Main Track vs. Master Track

I notice that Live 12 does not have the Master tack; instead it has the Main track. Does the Main track function exactly the same as the Master track used to? Specifically, if the Main track is rendered, does the render include the Main tracks effects?

Exact same thing, it's just a name change.

There’s a push in the software/music industry to remove references to master and slave relationships, Ableton is just doing what many music and software companies are doing.

@nikok,
Please don't go into "political" mode, there's other places to have this kind of discussions and it's not allowed on this forum, have a look at the Community Guidelines.

Ableton brings politics into Live. At least they are attempting to be politically correct by renaming packs, presets, samples, and the master track. Yet discussing these changes is not allowed?

With all due respect I am highly convinced that if moderators would like to master their role - and beyond that the company as a whole - giving factual context instead of generalized wordings will serve the matter most.
Interested readers can find information on what „politics” means here:

With that perspective - yes - we are talking politics. The more important background information on why the wording change is taking place can be found here:

It appears that the discussion of the matter dates back more than 20 years now. Maybe a blog-entry on the ableton webpage would be an appropriate location for explaining the effort taking place.
Thanks for listening
