Live Intro upgrade.

Post by Valkon » Mon Mar 18, 2024 2:13 pm

As a long-time user of the initial versions, I'm a little disappointed with the latest update: unlike Suite and Standard, Lite and Intro users did not add any new instruments or effects (Software Instruments - 0; Audio Effects - 0; Modulators - 0; MIDI Effects: - 1 CC Control utility) and only updated three Packs: Beat Tools, Build and Drop, Drive and Glow (which are unlikely to be of interest to anyone)... Of course, I'm glad to see the new laconic interface and the ability to simultaneously monitor the display of the clip editor and the tool racks... But this is where all the improvements end for me (Screen Reader Support; Sound Similarity/Browsing; User Tagging; Custom Browser Labels; Factory tags; Keys and Scales; Tuning Systems; Browsing History are not fundamental, and some are useless and even harmful))...
What do you think: isn’t it worth adding something really worthwhile “to the consumer basket” (implement the ability to simultaneously record musical data from the controller keyboard and from a session clip, located on ONE common track, into an arrangement clip; add a MIDI-assignable pause button for recording in the arrangement; CANCEL the limit on the number of tracks) for those for whom the capabilities of the Suite and Standard versions are redundant.

If you’re missing features that are only in standard or suite, then are they really redundant?

This is normal: after all, many new MIDI devices have appeared in the Suite, several instruments and effects from the Suite have descended to Standard, which were not there before, why should nothing appear in the Intro? The "Pause" button is generally a basic function that the old-timers of this forum have been asking for for more than 20 (!) years. And the limitation on the number of tracks is simply an atavism (many other DAWs don’t even have it in the Free versions)!
