Getting and setting Arrangement view selection in a MAX MSP Patch

Post by sefable » Mon Mar 18, 2024 3:33 pm

Hello,

I would like to get and set Arrangement view selection in a MAX MSP Patch.

I tried to look at : https://docs.cycling74.com/max8/vignett ... ject_model

I currently manage to set the loop start + length

Also the current song time and the "start_time".

But I can’t find a way to get/set the Arrangement view selection.

It’s the selection you make on one or multiple clips on one or multiple tracks using either the mouse or the keyboard in the Arrangement view.

Thanks in advance for any help

I don't think it's something settable/gettable.
Maybe tell us more what you want to achieve ? There might be another way.

If Sefable is asking about switching to Arrangement/Session from M4L then yes it's doable.
I can't remember the call from the top of my head, but I'll check later on and let you know.

in this case it's "call show_view Session"/"call show_view Arranger" sent to a "live_app view" object.

But I doubt it's what the OP is asking for. What I understand is how to select a portion of arranger.
