Ableton 12 Does Not Show Option to Authorize

Hello,

I had Ableton 10, bought the upgrade to 11 (with the free upgrade to 12).

I installed the 12 free trial on my brand new computer. It never gave me an option to authorize and when I waited out the 30 days this is what I see.



Does anyone know how I can authorize this on my new computer?

Try thrashing the unlock.cfg file (and maybe the Preferences.cfg file too).
It seems like you're on Windows, sorry I don't know the file's path for this OS, but a quick search in the knowledge base should provide the answer.

Is your L12 licence registered?
What happens if you click the "start your free trial" button?

There's articles about authorization, did you check them?

I believe it is registered. When I select "register a product" and enter my Ableton 12 (Upgrade) serial number it takes me to a screen that says my 30 day trial has expired.

If I entered "start your free trial" it takes me to the same screen that says my 30 day trial has expired.

I read through all the articles on authorization but they all reference the screen where it has an option to authorize when you start up Ableton. Unfortunately I only see the startup screen that I shared in my original post.

Are you using the same email address?
It might be a good idea to contact Support.

Okay I figured it out. I didn’t realize you can’t authorize the trial version. Once I downloaded from the link in my account and installed it works perfectly. Thanks to everyone for your help!
