How do you update Push 3 Standalone to v12?

Hey y'all, I have a Push 3 Standalone that I'm trying to upgrade to v12. I see the option on the Push, but when I select it, it tells me to go to http://push.local/update on a computer and upload a .swu file...but I'm not sure where I'm supposed to be getting this from & Ableton hasn't published any instructions (or anything at all about v12 on Push ). Can anyone share how they updated their Push3 Standalone to v12?

hi, I dont see V12 can be downloaded in this link, only 1.2.2

For me the url was http://push.local/upgrade

Push started to download Push 2.0, power cycled, and after Setup of core library i got a display message "You have successfully upgraded Push to Live 12"

If i now check software tab on the Push:
Ableton Live 12 Suite (12.0.1)
Firmware 1.4.0


Very smooth process if you ask me

Damn, my Push is telling me it's up to date, yet it's displaying Ableton Live 11 Suite.

Ah, apparently if you have the beta installed, you have to revert to the old SWU file, which will then allow the update to 12...

Yes, that's the only way to upgrade to 12.0.1(Push 2.0).

I can't finish the OTA update!

It always fails with an error message ("failed to upgrade" or smth), asking me for a retry, which funnily does not work. I have to restart the device to kick it off again. The highest I got was 74%. I tried like 6 times already. At the beginning I thought their servers were overloaded, but now I'm not so sure... Very frustrating.

Anybody else having this issue?

I seem to be experiencing that as well. I noticed I also had an update available for 1.2.2 or something. I was wondering if maybe I needed to update to that version first, but was getting the same failed to update message. I restarted the Push 3 and was finally able to get the 1.2.2. update to go through. Restarted again and have tried the Live 12 2.0 update a number of times, but it keeps failing. Feels like it's gotten around the 80% mark, but then fails. Did another restart and am trying again.

Following up, my last attempt worked. This time around the progress bar seemed much slower than earlier, but it hit 99%, I held my breath for a minute, and then it completed. Maybe you were right and it was server related. One thing I did was turn off antivirus on my PC this last time around. I was getting some funkiness during the authorization process where my PC and Push seemed to be waiting for each other. So disabled that temporarily in case it was causing a communication issue. Doesn't explain why Push would fail necessarily, but that was one thing I did different this last attempt.

Nah, Mac user here, so no AV or anything. I honestly don't think it has anything to do with my system. It just doesn't work, no matter how often I try.

Also, when I read that people's devices don't boot after updating... I guess we're beta testers then. I expected that it can't be that bad one year after product launch, but I guess I was wrong.

Should have looked into that before buying it.

Is there any downside to just leaving it on 12.0.b30? As we know (before the release version came out), the betas always contained the latest bug fixes and in general performed better than the latest release version. If the betas will continue, and will supercede 12.0.1, then maybe it makes the best sense to just stay on the beta track?

The only real downside of staying on the beta build atm is that you won't be able to download and install the new L12 packs (like Granulator III and so on) on P3S.
Other than that, you're perfectly fine sticking to the beta version.
