Controllng assigned parameters Push 2

Post by MyrtleV » Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:41 pm

I assigned various EQ parameters to macros, creating snapshots, principally in order to save the original positions. However I then want to control the EQ live in Push 2, yet it seems impossible as the controls are mapped. :?

How to set things up so I can both keep EQ parameters mapped to macros AND control the EQ dynamically using the EQ screen on Push 2?

I made a workaround: added another instance of EQ, keeping the original mapped parameters on a muted EQ. I can now control an unmuted version in a live situation and if necessary, mute from Push and unmute the original instance

Well, there's now a trick in L12 thanks to M4L's Mod mode.
Example:

Load an instance of EQ8
Load an instance of LFO
Rack them
Map LFO (in MOD mode) to your EQ8 parameter
Set LFO's rate to 0 so it doesn't modulate anything
Map LFO's Offset parameter to a Macro

The Offset Macro is now the one controlling your EQ8 parameter, and your EQ8 parameter is still controllable with your mouse/Push/controller.

[EDIT] well, actually it's not that handy, because the EQ8 parameter value will always be offset by the Offset Macro modulation amount; it'll only be neutral when the Offset is at 0%.
Well, maybe that'll be fine enough or trigger other ideas at least.
