Live 12 Video Flickering

Post by Ordine » Fri Apr 19, 2024 7:34 am

Hi,
I am a film composer, been running ableton since version 6, and even though it is not the industry standard I always preferred to work in Live for big film compositions as i just love the ordered chaos you can create between sketching and finishing.

Now i absolutely love version 12 but i have been running into a problem: When i import a videofile (h264 / .mp4) the image keeps flickering. It is a little annoying. Does anybody know how to workaround? I tried recoding the video to different formats, taking off all the plugins off that channel, made sure it is not in a group but nothing works. When I export the video there is no flickering. The video file is quite large, some 6GB ca.

My machine is Apple m1 on Ventura. No meaningful hardware as it happens also when i only use the laptop per se.

Thanks for the help.

When does the flickering occurs exactly?
Have you ever experienced this before with the same file format?
Do you have access to another file format to try out?
