I'm having some problems solo'ing tracks. I have my song open in Live and then I select the track I want to render then press the [S] to solo it - which works fine. But when I press play to make sure its solo'd, Live stutters the audio and goes into cpu overload.

I want to render each track in the song so I can offer tracks for remix. Is this problem because I have lined up every single track in the song together, one under the other (otherwise, to cut down on the silence I would need to cut out of each rendered wav file later)? It shouldn't be messing up because Live should only be processing the one track, not ALL the tracks and only outputting the solo'd tracks audio...?

I may be wrong but when solo is on, all tracks are still being played, it's just you don't hear them. But when you render it doesn't matter.
So what is your problem if you want to render solo tracks ? stutter won't be heard

I guess so. I don't know the technical side of Live's workings. For now I'm just going to stick with dragging on 'loop' at a time into the time loop locators and render. It is a bit lengthy but works like a charm.

Hopefully Ableton will take a clue from all the other people with the 'render to disk' problems and finally allow export/render of each track individually. I would love this feature as I could finally integrate my mixing desk into my Live setup!

Perhaps construct the function to bring up a window that has a list of all your tracks and then have checkbox's to select which tracks you want to render out - in full or as their default loop length (before extending and looping them). This way I can readily and easily make my tracks available for remixing by other artists.
