Looper speed change destroys audio in Live 11?

Post by pikseliahky » Sat May 25, 2024 5:40 pm

Please, I need help, not sure if this is a bug or I am really not getting something right. I have set up the default Live looper effect on an audio track which records audio from another track. It records and plays back all fine – but when I increase the playback speed and then go back to default, the looping sound strangly changes, as if there was a lowpass filter applied. There is no other effect on this track or any other reason why this should be happening. I tried to export clips from the looper before and after the speed change and, indeed, they sound differently. It seems that the speed knob is unusable since it destroys the audio in the buffer. Any idea how this could be solved, please? I understand there are some MFL options but I'm wondering what's wrong with the default audio effect. I have Live 11.3.25 on M2 Mac. Many thanks for any suggestions.

Edit: creating new tracks for both the original source and the looper seems to have solved the problem.
