Ableton Live 11
I have a mono, single track live recording that came out very well except for someone quickly speaking a couple of words that are very audible on the track.
I'm still learning Ableton so is there a technique for doing spot edits or some type of masking for very small corrections?

You could grab a demo of Steinburg Spectral Layers 10 or iZotope RX 11 and remove it. I know the Spectral Layers demo is a full version

It seems this an editing feature provided by other tools but not Ableton?

You can do simple edits in arrangement mode.

You can split the audio and delete a section you don't want. Just zoom in and use cmd+E to create splits before and after the offending bit and then delete it. Then adjust the fades on either side to avoid any clicks.

Or to just mute a section: zoom in and select a portion of a clip and click Edit | Deactivate Clip.
