They're now menu options.... click on View | Mixer Controls...
Some have keyboard shortcuts (see the menu items).

There is also a dropdown menu at the bottom right in which you can show or hide items in the session mixer.

Except nobody likes to menu-dive and the mixer button doesn't work for horizontal mixer anyway, so what's the point?

Glad we could make ableton to add the keyboard shortcuts back but still, bad design choice messing with fundamental functions. Waiting for butttons to come back. It's not like there isn't a space to put them!

Agree. I used these buttons frequently. Don't know why they were sacrificed, but seems strange to fix things that weren't broken.

Exactly, absolutely rediculous to have deleted them and super pain in the ass to go into the menu options and adjust manually. Real workflow fucker.

CMD+ALT+
- i (Input)
- s (Sends)
- r (Returns)
- m (Mixer)

Straightforward and much quicker than any button clicking.

Not if you are already navigating with the mouse and want to continue to do so.
I can't execute these shortcuts with only my left hand.
On Windows it's even worse because of the greater distance between CTRL and ALT.

My standard solution to Live's less-than-optimal keyboard mapping and lack of customization is to use Keyboard Maestro. It can intercept key presses and mimic menu selections if Ableton doesn't assign a key command. AutoHotKey on Windows.

I assign a lot of stuff to the keypad and function buttons, including most of the display and transport stuff.

For the life of me I can't figure out why Ableton only went part way with this (there's a list and an assign mode for goodness sakes!). It has to be someone's job security to sculpt the key command set. The problem is, there's no universal solution as there are so many different ways to use Live.

I also use KM, but it doesn't address the issue of not having direct fast mouse access. Drop-down lists are a pain.

It's not only the mixer buttons that are gone. In Live 11, there were separate buttons to show or hide the Velocity, Chance, Slide, and Pressure lanes. Now, you must use a drop-down list and open it each time instead of quickly clicking on the buttons of the lanes you want to show/hide. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to create shortcuts in KM because there are no menu entries.
Even if it were possible to create shortcuts, this would again not solve the problem of fast mouse access.

While KM is a fantastic program, not everyone is willing to pay for it or invest time in learning the app and creating shortcuts. AutoHotkey, although free, is far less user-friendly.
