With delay compensation, track elements arrive later than moving cursor. With it off, some sounds some weird

Hey,

So I've been using it a while now, and for the past year or so, it's been doing this weird thing that at one point the project is out of sync with the moving cursor. What I mean by that is that the cursor is moving past the part of a track but it's playing later. I then turned delay compensation off and it did fix it, but then the elements in the track are off rhythm. And, the weird part is, that I have delay compensation turned off by default except when I'm recording something, but the track goes out of sync randomly after some time I've been working on it. I assume it could depend on how many tracks and/or plugins I have. So after an x nr of tracks + plugins, it goes off sync but that is still a weird feature, so I'm thinking maybe something else is going on.
Thanks!

I wanted to include a video but it's not possible :(.

Nick

you can upload it to streamable or something and add the link here i guess.
Or i upload it to youtube is also a solution.

its hard to understand from your explaination what is going on, so a video is a good idea.

I had this same problem. It’s bad enough that the playhead is late, but so are any graphic representations. So, for example, if you try to use Spectrum to look for overlapping frequencies it’s completely useless.

After running out of larger buffer options, to address it, I removed all plugins and all routing… but I found that it wasn’t any one thing. It was just the cumulative effect of all of it. Basically the bigger the project gets the more CPU it consumes until mixing becomes an exercise in pandering to Live’s CPU meter. So I exported all the stems to another DAW and started mixing them there instead.

I’m hopeful something will change in Live, but I’ll keep exporting until all my sets are out of Live or until the issue gets addressed by an update, whichever comes first
