Push 3: Cueing not working

Hi all,

I spent a lot of time getting the cueing to work as I wanted. I read up on the entire forum and online sources but I cannot get it to work how I want it. Hopefully someone can help me set it up how I want. I have the controller version, so not standalone.

The goal:
I want to use my headphones to cue a track (in session view) before applying it to the main output. So the track should ONLY play on the headphones and not on the main output. Much in the way that a DJ would do (as I intend to use it for live performance).

What I already tried:
I set up the main output 1/2 and cue output 3/4 like in the documentation: https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/mixin ... and-cueing. However, what this resulted in is that whenever I cue a track and trigger a clip on that track, it still plays in the main output. I found a suggestion that said to mute the track and cue it should only play it in the headphones, however there is no sound coming out of my headphones although the meter in Ableton says there is still audio going there.

You need to set your track's output to channel 3/4 (or whatever output your headphones are using).

Thanks for your answer. I guess theoretically that does what I want it to do. However, it seems like this is exactly what the cue functionality should do under-the-hood right? It’s quite cumbersome to change the outputs during live performance. Or is there a button for that on the Push 3? EDIT: I also tried this and there is no audio coming through my headphones. I adjusted headphones and cue volume but nothing happens. I can hear main audio coming through though so it seems the port does work
