For some stupid reason I decided to try and update my firmware. I got to the part where you delete the original firmware but now I can't update it because Vyzex can't detect the device or any MIDI ports (I'm using USB?) and when I press transmit midi and select the system file nothing happens except the window really quickly reloading.
I have tried to use Uniquest but when I run the install it creates a huge string of files and when I click the Uniquest.exe it says "Error writing key" and "Error creating the reference".
Could anyone help with installing uniquest or just the problem in general? Because now I might just have a £50 brick.

Did you ask Akai's support?

I could but they stopped support for it all the way back in like 2010 and apparently their customer support is terrible.
