Beatseeker

I came up with a performance project with a live drummer, excited talking to her about it, knowing I can use that Beatseeker pack to give her the lead in tempo.... But it doesn't work with push. Are there any alternatives (not involving a laptop) other than riding the tempo knob or constantly hitting tap tempo?

That would be a really great pack to get working on standalone. Yes indeed.

I do understand about incompatible libraries and whatnot.

Yes, unfortunately Beatseeker doesn't work on P3S... and Live's Tempo Follower feature isn't yet implemented on Push.
Imo it's worth reporting to Support even if this incompatibility is known, for the sake of letting our dear Abes that P3S needs the Tempo Follower

I will do that, thanks.

I'm the meanwhile I've been googling around to see about mapping pedal #2 to tap tempo. When I get back to it tomorrow I will see how far I get with user mode using this knowledge base article:
https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... I-mappings

Though it looks like that doesn't really apply to standalone operation.

Pedals are no go.

I tried creating a set on desktop with tap tempo mapped to a midi controller trigger (with "remote" turned on in midi settings), opened the set on push with the controller plugged in and.... no.

The best bet for me is going to be a midi trigger mapped. From what I'm reading about tempo follow as well as beatseeker is that they don't do great with complex rhythms and ours will be complex. And with a midi trigger I can figure out whether a footswitch or tabletop controller will work better for me. The light touch of the roli blocks lightpad will be good for finger taps.

If I was a max programmer I guess I'd make a device to map a midi trigger to tap tempo, no luck finding anything like that at maxforlive.com.
