great stuff. got live 2, got an edirol PC50(8pots/8faders) and the second fader doesn't work...sent it back, same thing... everything works and assigns beautifully...? WTF? display says it's transmitting data, yet no note response from live... edirol said they've had no problems, so i thought i'd ask heads...BTW/ i don't have logic or any other midi program to test...

have you tried to use Edirols controllermap for Live ? Its available here.

actually its been quite a busy week for updates...

just got the new OS X / safari update... which BTW/ STILL doesn't render
this forum among other things...
BUT...
i downloaded edirols control map and it doesn't have a readme file...?
i guess the question then becomes...
1. why should i have to use their controller map...?
2. why does it have only 7 tracks... by default...? they have an 8 pot / 8 fader set up?
3. fader S2 still is not working after restart...
AGAIN everything else works precisely...?
i am really excited about using live and will do so in the morning with an
extra strong coffee...and a phone call to edirol...
i'll keep in touch...

It seems like you're using the pcr50 default mapping.
That would mean you're not only sending control changes(live will recognize those signals)but also you will send SysEx,RPN,NRPN (Live won't recognize).
Just set your controls to only send control changes and/or note numbers

For what's it worth, I used the PCR-30 yesterday for a show and it rocked. I've had no problems at all with it. It's deceptively deep, however, and I wonder if their may be some operator error here.
