i cant get the autowarp to do its magic , i dont mean to have a track perfectly warped but it doesnt set any warp markers at all. only the 1.1.1 (and its always a bit after the first beat)
what should i do?

Adjust the rest manually until it has been improved!

Usually that works with a few minor tweaks.

Move the 1.1.1 to the start and check the rightclick menu, warp from here.

I do not see how AutoWarp is related to your old warped tracks.
it is one thing that AutoWarp does not give you the result you want but why you can not warp at all in Live 5?

Alex

What are you warping (hip hop, electronic, rock, opera...)?

If it is autowarping with only one warp marker, then it is probably something done with a fixed tempo (hip hop/ dance music) and only needs one.

Generally most of us have seen autowarp drop the 1st marker BEHIND the 1st downbeat. Move it over to the front of the downbeat, and you should be pretty close.

be patient and you will find that auto warp does a good job (and get to know the right-click menus :))

autowarping doesnt create markers except the first one on most of the tracks
and all my all warped tracks lost their markers and i have to rewarp them.

Toufas,

So you if you warp a clip in Live 4 and reopen this clip then in Live 5, all the warp markers are lost?

Alex

Hi Toufas,

could you please send me an example? Like a short audio file from with its corresponding Live 4 .asd file?

Alex

all the files are rescanned no matter what
for example i have made a folder
in that folder there are:
John Askew vs Duncan Sheik - On A High Skylab (AVB Bootleg - XDR Reconstruction).mp3
and John Askew vs Duncan Sheik - On A High Skylab (AVB Bootleg - XDR Reconstruction).wav

along with John Askew vs Duncan Sheik - On A High Skylab (AVB Bootleg - XDR Reconstruction).mp3.asd (made from live 5)
and John Askew vs Duncan Sheik - On A High Skylab (AVB Bootleg - XDR Reconstruction).wav.asd (made from live 4)
if i close live 4 and open live 5 and drag and drop the wav file the file is rescanned like i opened it for the first time.

Hi Toufas,

Live 5 will rescan wav files with a Live 4 .asd file because changes of the internal format. But it is only needed for the waveform.
If the Live 4 .asd file contains any warp markers they should be restored from Live 5.

So we are still taking about lost warp markers you set in Live 4?

Alex

afaik yes but thats not a major problem as i will prefer to have my files on mp3 instead of wav (at least my songs)

also while we are it is it possible to disable the "play from this mark" feature on the track waveform?

edit: i forgot to add....when i use the metronome to warp and i know the bpm of the track (lets say 134) and i drag 1.1.1 on the first beat and i put the markers properly on the track, the metronome doesnt seem to be on time with the beat even though i can mix the track with others just fine

Hi Alex!

This might or might not be related, but I'm also pretty sure L5 sometimes forgets my saved clip settings (or it doesn't always save them correct in the first place?).

Problem is, I don't have a solid reproduction path. I'll be back when I'm 100% sure.

BTW. This is L5 only, not set / opened in L4 or anything...
