Step Arp timing

Has anyone had any issues with the new Step Arp device? If I insert it on a track with its default settings (other than perhaps changing the division for easier analysis), it doesn't seem to be synced to the transport. The tempo seems correct, but otherwise the alignment seems to be random. This seems to be the case whether "Key Retrig." is on or off.

I suspect user error, so wanted to ask here before asking Ableton (I've submitted a lot of bug reports as of late, and wouldn't want to submit one in error).

So, is Step Arp working as expected for others when synced to the transport?

Stupid question, but are you sure Arrangement's loop isn't turned on in the background?

Thanks for the reply. Arrangement loop was on, but the behavior seems to be the same whether it's on or off.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but why would loop being on or off matter for this?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I assumed you were using Session. Due to the various interactions between Session and Arrangement, it's possible to get "weird" (ie unwanted) timing things happening in Session if a region is looping in Arrangement. So I was just checking this wasn't the case.

I see. I didn't think to mention it in my original post, but this is in Arrangement View. I just have a single note being arpeggiated with Step Arp using the default settings (other than division), and for some reason Step Arp doesn't seem to be syncing to the transport (I do have 'Sync' on). I was just wondering if it's working correctly for others, 'cause if it is, that would suggest it's user error, or a problem specific to my setup.

I just has a look, and yep the timing is completely off.
Go ahead with Support

Great, thanks so much for checking that. (If this forum had upvotes, I'd upvote you!)

I will let support know :)

Yeah, I've just mailed support about it as well. It's off in several different ways. Without "Key Retrig", it just starts somewhere randomly in the sequence on transport start (perhaps where it stopped the last time). Also, regardless of Key Retrig or not, the timing of the generated notes are waaaaay behind sync, and seeminliy randomly behind per transport start. Perhaps also due to it starting where it left off, clocking-wise. Wonder it it just doesn't reset properly on transport start...

I'm also having this problem and haven't found a workaround.

Whilst we're on the topic of Step Arp - how difficult would it be to be able to unlink the sequence lengths for the different transformations? So that the Transpose could be a 4-step sequence but Chance could be 5-step?

Support has confirmed it's a bug.

FYI, the Pack was updated with a fix last week.
