push 3 -> midi -> ipad

Can the push 3 standalone send midi messages that can be interpreted by an iPad? I assume the answer is yes, but would I need some kind of interface, or is it as simple as an appropriate cable adapter?
The application is setting up scenes/songs to send midi messages which will trigger lighting cues run by an app in the iPad.
Thanks!

You can hse a CME bluetooth adapter connected to the Push 3 Standalone, in that case you can midi connect your iPad wireless via bluetooth.

I use the CME Widi Jack, this has 2 2.5mm TRS connections(midi in/midi out). You have to buy two 2.5mm to 3.5mm cables to connect the CME Widi Jack to the Push 3(the Push 3 will power the CME). That really works great, even MPE is transported to my iPad for the apps that support it(like the Moog apps).
I also send audio from the iPad to the audio input of the Push 3 standalone.
