Hey everyone!
So I can't hear my plugins. I mean I can, but the volume just seems to be sooooo low I have to strain it's crazy. I know they're working because I do hear them and if I add the audio effect utility and turn up the gain it get's louder. But I just don't feel like I should have to do that everytime I add a plugin.
I've been using the Addictive Keys plugin, using the audio effect utility and it's been okay just not what I'd expect. How do I crank it up?
Today I installed the Rhodes V8 Pro Plugin and man it's super quiet. Even worse than Addictive keys. I'm using an old Yamaha ypg 535 keyboard with a focusrite 4i4 with a set of Rokit Monitors. The keyboard is plugged directly into my PC via USB. I just don't get why my plugins are so quiet. Any ideas?

Thank you! I hope someone can help me figure this out. I asked about this years ago and someone said to use the Audio effect utility which I've been doing ever since but it just don't see right.

Can you check what velocity values your keyboard is sending out? Do this with the Velocity midi plugin. In the top right corner you'll see the number. Hitting the keys fairly hard should give you a velocity around 100 or more. If hitting hard only gets you a low velocity value, your keyboard is either broken or has wrong settings.
If your values seem ok, then it's probably something in the plugin. But as it happens with different instruments, I'd doubt that.

I found this under midi effects. No clue how to use it yet of course.

I was more referring to the Midi Monitor in the same folder you found Velocity.
Anyway, set the Mode in the Velocity device you have there to 'fixed' and with the Out Hi set to around 90 you should have a decent level.
But you should definitely check if your keyboard is sending the right velocity with the Midi Monitor.

Yes the velocity definitely cranked it up! Even better with the utility audio effect. When I added the midi monitor, the keys seemed to be okay. Any normal press would be around 50 to 60 maybe and harder I hit the keys the higher it would go. I suppose I'm chalking it up to this old crappy keyboard, I'm thinking I need to find something better than this Yamaha ypg 535. I was thinking about something like the Roland Fantom 06 workstation. But that might be a little out of my price range. Any recommendations?

You might be inadvertently sending CC 7 volume command to the plugin from one of the controls on your keyboard. And that could bump the volume way down

Does this happen, when you unplug the midi-controller and just let the piano-roll do the job?
