Using a DJ controller in Ableton

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for an alternative way of using my DJ Controller within Ableton, perhaps with a VST plugin?
In this case, I'm not intending to use the DJ controller to play sets, but to simply record scratches of audio files.

The way I'm currently doing it is like this:
1) Open up rekordbox and load my sample on one of the decks, so that it's ready for scratching.
2) Plug the output of my DJ controller to the input 1/2 of my audio interface
3) Select the input 1/2 in Ableton, and start recording

It definitely works this way and achieves the results I'm looking for.
However, having opened both rekordbox and Ableton, my computer is really struggling with the performance. If the live set is already too large, my computer can't handle having both programs running at the same.

Does anyone know whether there is a VST plugin or Max device out there, which achieves the same result without having to use rekordbox? Like, just loading a sample into the VST plugin and being able to play back or scratch the audio file with your DJ controller. That would be amazing.

Just stumbled upon this and wanted to post it here - then I saw that you already did. Awesome!

In the demo videos, I saw that they're using midi notes to trigger the scratches.
Is this the only way this device can be used? Or can you also use this like a traditional DJ controller?

The MIDI Note opens the gate for the scratch sound to come through, there's more videos on the product page.
