What cities have good house music scenes? I live near miami so that is usually pretty happening but it seems many cities are totally devoid of good music. What about where YOU live? Where is the hot city to live for house?

I live in Johannesburg, South Africa, and we have a huge house scene here. In fact, we consume 7% of the world vinyl market, which is huge for our population! We have a dedicated DJ following and a healthy house, trance, breaks and hip hop scene, thanks to a great appetite for music that prevails in our country. We're one of only 3 countries in the world where music sales are growing.

25 miles to my left is Glasgow, one of the most incestuous and bland scenes in the UK, 25 miles to my right is Edinburgh which would appear to have little or no scene left at all
i'm in the middle where Stone Roses tribute bands and bland indie rock is the name of the day
there's a vibrant scene in my studio mind you

Ha, this is a good thread.
I'm in Boston, where the "scene" here is folksy bands featuring people with beards and too much body hair.
There is not much of a house / techno scene here, though there are one or two events every now and then worth checking out. It's up to people like us to make it different in our cities!

"The scene" doesn't really even exist here...If you mean clubs, we have a couple, but most people aren't into that, or think EDM is "gay"...This is part of the reason why I converted to Digital Music, now I can just broadcast my music...

Chicago here!
Unfortunately we are also highly infected. Hip Hop is the disease and it's killing our scene. The "Wal-Mart" clubs are pushing out the local DJ's and only playing Hip-Hop and / or flying in the big EDM acts.
Underground is growing again. The best nights are in the little clubs. I love this time because this is when the new VIBE is born.
Can someone please kill hip hop already???....Could it be any more suburban?

Hey Marky! Ex Bostonian here. I guess the place hasn't changed much. I had to suffer through years of trying to play electronic music for a majority of people with rock head mentality. Isn't Boston more about the "after" parties anyway though. I remember going to loft spaces around South Station that had kicking parties with DJ's playing some pretty decent stuff. maybe that scene has dissapeared? Oh Well.
I'm not too suprised by the answers in this thread. so far...London-yes, Miami- yes,. How about Paris & New York--clubs playing house music maybe but no scene- so to speak? hmm? Maybe the idea of a "scene" is dead? let's hope not.
Me I live in the woods- Have to travel pretty far (100miles or more) for any excitement.- unless you like hippies bangin' drums- Yo Woodstock!
cheers everyone..

I live in Dallas, Texas. I think it's safe to say that Dallas is full of consumers. Unfortunately, consumption is restricted to cars, clothes, boob jobs, and food. Not music. The Dallas scene is shite on a good day.

Every club in Vancouver plays house, it's usually crap tho', The Lotus has some good underground nights but it can get pretty meatmarket there.
In the summers here there are several really good outdoor festivals within a few hours drive (InVision, Soundwave, Shambala this weekend) the music I heard at Soundwave (Ucluelet, BC) two weeks ago was some of the best Tech/Prog house I have heard in a long time.
Also it seems that Vancouver and Victoria and surrounding areas are producing a lot of good music in many electronic genre's right now (Noah Pred, Bluetech are just a couple)
