How to have Link on by default? or Automation triggers Link?

How to have Link on by default?
I'm doing performance with maybe 20 live sets on 2 macs as redundancy , every time i open a live set I have to click link and then click link again to dislink to get the redundancy to work.
Is there a way to automation the Link on/off? so after bar 2 link goes off so redundancy is back to work
