Pasting Scenes causes Live 5 to crash

When choosing the command Paste Scenes, without acually having copied any from anywhere, Live "quits unexpectedly". This is reproducible and should be addressed in a future bugfix update.

might be a stupid question but how do you reproduce this? paste scenes is greyed out here until i cut or copy a scene and the keyboard shortcut does nothing before that either.

Hi FORMAT,

maybe I'm too stupid but I also failed to reproduce this :)
So you open Live 5, choose "Paste Scenes" and it crashes?

Or does it happen only with a certain Live set or a certain template this way?

Could you please send me the system crash log?

It suddenly doesn't happen anymore... hm maybe I'm slowly going insane by staring at the computer screen too much? I'll send my crash log anyway.

Hi FORMAT (and Alex),

I also can confirm the Bug,

After starting live the >Edit>Paste or >Edit>Paste Special (Apple+V/Shift+Apple+V) is not greyed out.

Then, after doing one of these two commands live is crashing.

<But, if I create (for example) a new midi clip, then the commands are greyed out and nothing will happen when using one of the shortcuts.

okay, i can't reproduce this. starting live 5.0.1, checking the menu or pressing the shortcut as the first thing after the template loads. nothing happens and the menu is greyed out.

maybe the bug's got something to do with the template you guys are using?

Like Zion15 I already fail to get the "Paste Scenes" menu entry not grayed when starting up Live.

serotoninsteve,
do you use a template? If yes, can you reproduce this when you temporarily do not use this template?

Alex

No, it was the standard template.
Just tried to modify it by adding an audio and miditrack, saved the template and restarted Live, but it´s the same behaviour.

This is on my internet windows, I´ll check on the other music windows soon.

If you want I can kill it in task manager and send you the crash log?

Greetings

serotoninsteve,

thanks for the offer, but on the Windows the log file of the final version will not contain any crash information.
At least it is good to know that you can reproduce it. Hopefully the crash log from the mac people will show us where it crashes.

Palmer Eldritch,
can you please send me the system crash log of Live too?

Hi folks,

ok, this is the way to reproduce this one. The system clipboard must be empty to get the 'Paste' and 'paste Scenes' menu entries not grayed on Live start.
That is the reason why it is not so easy to get this one because mostly the system clipboard is not empty.

I think we should be able to fix this bug soon.

Alex
