In short.. put MIDI CC Control on a track
Rename one of the Custom controls, and note the name updates on Push.
Save / Close / Restart Live / Reopen
The renamed control name isn't retained.
Any fix for this?

Hi,
yes it's a known bug.

Is there an intention to address it.. or leave it as it is indefinitely?

Fixing bugs is part of developing a software, so there's no intention in ignoring it.

I'm also in software.. but completely different industry... so familiar with how bugs can sit for ages and ages, even with the best intentions, unfortunately.
Let me ask this... is this something that works.. or had worked at some point, as expected in Push 2?
I also noticed this affects the Automation Envelopes view in Live... and even after changing the name, it doesn't instantly update.
See image...
(hard to believe in 2025, you don't have a direct way to post an image here...?)

This device is fairly new since it was introduced in L12, so the bug isn't an old.
All I know is that the bug is filed.
(yeah, I know about the posting image annoyance, hopefully we'll improve this soon. Meanwhile I edited your post so at least the image is displayed)

Thanks, @jur !.. btw.. you and your colleague (Mariana) in support should talk!
Her response to me sending a support request pointing to this thread (submitted before your initial reply, but replied more than 3 weeks later) is as follows... (see below)... Is there anything actually needed in this case?
Thanks for contacting Ableton Tech Support. We appreciate your patience, as we’re currently handling a high volume of requests.
We're sorry to hear you have encountered this Push 3 issue and would like to help you resolve it!
