[Feature Request] Note length on sequencer

Post by rosscopk79 » Thu Jan 02, 2025 11:57 am

Hello

I’m new to Move but one of early things I’ve noticed is how you go about changing the length of a note.

Currently you do this by holding the relevant sequence step button and then turning the click wheel, but this is really cumbersome and I’m concerned that over time this could result in wear and tear on the click wheel.

Is there a better way of doing this?
What I’d like is just to hold the sequence step button (putting it into Note Length mode) and then just clicking the sequence step button of where I want that note to end. I could then make minor adjustments using the wheel.

For example if you want a pad to last an entire bar this involves a lot of wheel turns. Whereas if I could just hold the first sequence button and then press the 16th sequence button this would just involve two button clicks.

Maybe I’ve missed a trick or overlooked something obvious. Happy to be pointed in the right direction!

Cheers.

You're talking about Move, not Note, right?

Ha! Good spot.
I am. What an idiot.
Turns out, I’m so new to it I can’t even name it correctly 🤦🏻‍♂️

I can’t see an option to delete this or move it to the right board.

+1 here !

Using Move as a backing track player with a drum rack, and making a 16 bar long note is a real pita unless you record it instead of the step input method.

You can hold a step and use the jogwheel to change a note’s length.

Hello - you may need to re-read my original post, as I already mentioned that ;)
I'm requesting an alternative way of doing it, as I don't feel it's very intuitive.

I'd like to be able to hold the step and then press another step button / use the sequencer navigation to select where I want the note to end, using the jog-wheel to make minor adjustments.

Turning the jog-wheel several times is cumbersome - especially if you want the note to last the entire length of a bar.

+1

i was VERY surprised this isnt a feature, and scrolling the wheel when you want to tie notes that are 16 steps long takes a LOT of scrolling....
