I am currently using Live 12, but this problem has bugged me all the from Live 9.
After loading up Live I begin to preview some audio clips. All of a sudden, the preview/cue knob whisks itself anti clockwise and I can hardly hear the previewing clip until I readjust the cue knob manually. In my attempt to track down the problem I noted that, after lots of head scratching, in my settings, my midi controller was listed as a control surface. I removed the controller from the list and, hey presto, the problem disappeared.
I have a Cakewalk A-300 midi controller connected to my Live setup and this works perfectly well as a midi controller, but for some reason it wants to be listed as a control surface (which it isn’t). I don’t know why this is, perhaps in the dim distant past I had actually made this setting/option. Once I’ve removed the Roland A-Pro from the midi list, the remaining session works absolutely fine, until the next time I open Live. I can live with this behaviour but it is annoying and I would like to permanently prevent the controller being listed in the midi section.
