Can't find my Mini Nova in the control surface drop down

Post by adellerodger » Sat Jan 25, 2025 2:20 am

Hello, I am very new to using Ableton, it's simple yet very confusing. I have looked everywhere and asked various questions and rephrased my questions to get passed the issue I am having. First off, I created a midi track and recorded (I think it recorded, it shows something there and plays back), and I am trying to convert it to an audio track. I know you freeze the track and flatten, I've done it before and it worked. And I also know you can do it through resampling. However, these are the road blocks I am running into:

When I right click on my midi track and click Freeze track, I get a pop up saying there is no audio output. So I am assuming it needs an instrument, which I am assuming it's the control surface. When I used Ableton 11, I was able to get this all to work, and I don't recall completely if I found my MiniNova in the control surface drop down, I am assuming I did. I upgraded to Ableton 12 and can't find the MiniNova in the control surface drop down. I am assuming this is why I am getting that pop up when I try to freeze the track? If that's not it, I have no idea what I need to do.

So I tried another method, which was the resampling method, and no sound is picked up when I try to record in my audio track that I have set for resampling. I have attached a screenshot to show how everything is set up. I feel like I am missing something super simple, but not sure. I would really appreciate some sort of help here, I am beyond frustrated and have tried searching everywhere for the past 2 hours to get answers to this question. I am not one to post on forums like this but I feel like this is the only place I have let to turn to, help?https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ud3z8gwx ... hkrv0&dl=0
