How to sync host transport

Hi.. I'm working through a M4L course.. but it is missing some info.. seems perhaps they removed it because it covered some deprecated method.. and didn't update to include updated info?
In any event.. here's a portion of the script in the course that is visible.. but not covered ... e.g., the course generally goes step by step explaining things.. but this chapter picks up at a point where these objects already exist and weren't explained

the 'hostsync~' object, I found https://docs.cycling74.com/legacy/max5/ ... %20values... but can't find in current documentation.
E.g., you can see when try to re-create.. it seems not recognized.

So, I guess, long story sort... if 'hostsync~' isn't how it's to be done.. what should I be looking for?
