This is doing my head in. Why when midi mapping potentiometers to say volume, midline is -12. Is there a way that the left hand side of the potentiometer is - infinitiy and say the maxiumum is what you set it at (like +12 db).

This is really mind boggling stuff and makes midi mapping tedious in my point of view because without visualising where your mid point is, playing on the fly makes it very frustrating.

Any ideas?

0 dB isn't the midpoint.

BTW, you can change the range (min-max) of a mapping.

Seems like maybe a logarithmic curve would make this kind of behavior. Would be fun to see how it feels in action.

I think there might be some midi tools that allow you to tweak behavior on a deeper level from a max pack. But by default you’re basically not going to get this behavior at all.
