Minilab MKII defaults

Having terrible trouble getting Minilab to work with Ableton 12. I have a custom memory (Memory 2) set in Minilab to fix the Channel 1/9 Relative mapping issue. However when I load Ableton Live 12, this memory is not recalled and the default (broken) memory is loaded.
If I then use Shift-2 on the Minilab, the memory is still not recalled, but the Midi Channel in Ableton is changed, which means none of my Channel 1 mappings work. Any ideas?
