Independent use of Move & Push in Ableton Live?

Hi everyone,
I’m exploring ways to streamline my workflow in Ableton Live to make both live performance and the creative process even more enjoyable. My current setup uses an Ableton Push 2 and an Ableton Move (which I love for what it is), along with some outboard gear from time to time. However, I’m curious if anyone has successfully set them both up to work in Live control "independently together."
In my setup, I’d like to replicate the effective parallel mapping you can get with, say, an APC40MK2 working alongside the Push – with each device functioning as a separate control surface. Specifically, I want the Move to act solely as a dedicated drum controller – for instance, assigned to a specific drum track. Even though I can lock the Move’s eight encoders to a specific track, any track change on either device causes all the controls to synchronize, which prevents me from assigning each device separate tasks.
In the past, I’ve managed dedicated drum controller setups using devices like the Maschine Mk3 with its plugin, Digitakt with Overbridge, or the TR-8S with its plugin in Ableton. But nothing beats having a separate drum machine seamlessly integrated directly in Ableton Live – for me a huge step forward for both performance and creative workflows.
Has anyone implemented separate mappings for these controllers – perhaps through custom Max for Live solutions or advanced MIDI mapping techniques? I’d love to hear your experiences, ideas, and any potential workarounds.
Looking forward to your thoughts!
Cheers,
Moritz
