Clip automation not being copied over

Hey folks,
I am consolidating a few projects in to one large set. There are a number of tracks in each project that use the same instrument. So the idea is when I join them together, I copy all the clips that use the same instrument to one of the tracks and eventually delete the empty tracks.
But when I copy the clips over it seems like I am losing some of the automation, or automation appearing that I did not set. Either way it is not the behavior I would expect. Has anyone else experienced trouble copying over clip automation data to other tracks?
I am using Live 12.1.11 on macOS 14.7
