Setting up MalletStation with alternate tuning?

Post by Zanerman123 » Thu May 01, 2025 4:12 pm

I was able to get my hands on a MalletStation for a few months to toy around and it has a couple features that I'm interested in using with alternate tunings, but don't exactly know how to go about it.

On the MalletStation there are these gap caps, which are rubber slips that fit over the keys so you don't hit disabled keys. You can use a button on the station to adjust the lowest note, making this a really nice feature. In the software, you can assign custom MIDI notes to these gap caps, which is where my question lies: I can't adjust the MIDI value of the other 'enabled' notes, meaning that if I start from C and go up chromatically the MIDI codes read

48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 97 (E#), 53, and so on...

If I wanted to start playing in 13-EDO on my MalletStation with this E#, is there any way I can configure Ableton (I'm using Live 12 Lite) to do that?
I tried my best explaining how the MalletStation works but if there are more questions let me know!
