Listen to solo channel WITH sidechain/trigger inputs

Hi there!
So, this feels like a noob question, but I can't seem to figure it out.
I've got a project containing 80 channels. On some of those channels I have a multiband compressor running witch only activates with the input of a different channel. Let's say: my bass guitar's multiband ducks down when a kick plays, to make room for the kick. Now, I wanna listen to that bass guitar channel while also having the effect of the triggered / sidechained inputs from a different channel. But whenever I solo the bass guitar, I see the multiband stops working because there is no input from the kick (because at that point it's muted cq the bass guitar is solo'd).
How can I solo a single channel without losing all my triggers and sidechains that come from external (other) channels? Thanks!
