If I use my push 2 with ableton live 12 (12.2.5) , the play button has a little delay (0.5 sec) to it.

When I use the legacy script (-Push2UseLegacyScript in options.txt) there is no delay anmore, but I am missing new push features.

Anyone else noticing this issue? or maybe with push 3 too? Otherwise I have no delay in other buttons, for example scene starts instantly and pads too.

Is it happening with every Set?
I'm wondering if it could somehow be related to the recent addition of a few secondary functions for the Play button when held down.

I wondered the same. Since the addition of the secondary functions for follow actions, the play does not respond as it should. Many times I hit play and it does nothing. I found this is mostly me not releasing the button in time before the secondary function kicks in. You have to really be quick on the release. The spongy, hard to press button does not help here either.

I think the time before it registers that you mean to hold down for follow actions should be increased a tad bit more. I think what the OP is experiencing is that now it only plays after your release vs immediately when you press. I am on Push 3 and it does engage play immediately after release if you release fast enough though. Not sure if there is something additional going on with Push 2.

That's quite concerning.
Did any of you already contact Support about this?

Ok, I just did a test by comparing with L12.1 (before Follow Actions where controllable from Push), I can confirm that problem.
There's no doubt it's due to FA control.

this is what the ableton support answered:

"This is a known issue that is the result of a change we implemented; we are gathering user feedback on this and adding to a report which is already filed in our backlog. Unfortunately, we are unable to give a specific date for when this might be addressed. Therefore, we must ask you for your understanding and patience. I have added another point to the filed story, to bring it further up in the queue.

I'm very sorry that we don't have better news for you at the moment. However, we will let you know as soon as this bug is fixed."

I am having the same problem - I only noticed it becuase I tried to press play in time with my right hand piano playing, and I couldn't get it to sync up (even though tempo was matched).

Well.... I hope it gets resolved. Meanwhile I'll use a midi foot controller...

When Play Modifier is set to Off, the Play button triggers playback on press and no longer acts as a modifier for Follow Actions.
