I personally like both programs for their own reasons. With Ableton Live I can do all the Remix/Reworking I want, and not be constricted to how many channels I wish to mix. However, it lacks being able to beat match on the fly...That's where Traktor excells. Also, Traktor has an amazingly great, intuitive layout for DJing. 10 cue points, Wave form display, filters, etc...I think both programs rock.

Traktor at BeatPort is $119 till August 31 (my birthday - coincidence? I think not!)

It's permanently $165 at AudioMidi.com. Sounds like a simple sale to me.

Is this AudioMidi.com site even legit? I'd imagine at those prices, the product would either be B stock (Open, and returned), used, or simply the site isn't real...I could be wrong though.

I've had good experiences with AudioMidi.com....and they've got pretty darn low prices...Live 5 is like 299 usd (crossgrade offer) over there right now.

That's crazy dammit. No I don't work for them.

Sorry this has nothing to do with Traktor....

Thank you for the feedback. I will have to get some stuff through them. They have the cheapest prices I have seen so far.

I've purchased about 11 items total from audiomidi.com
that includes software titles and audio and midi hardware.

they rock.

novamusik.com is another good one, and based in milwaukee its not too long a drive for most midwesterners.

I remember they had Live 4 for $299 a couple days after the Live 5 announcement, which meant you could get Live 4 and the free v.5 upgrade for $299. A few of my friends cashed in on that deal.

Audiomidi absolutely ROCKS. I've bought many things from them. Not only are they extremely legit, they are also extremely helpful. Their live chat on the website rocks, and their people really know their shit. Technically adept and will give opinions. And if a cheaper price is found, they match it. It is by far my top choice in buying audio hardware and software.
