Live12 not sample accurate?

LIve12 is not sample accurate when recording into session view via midi trigger clip in arrangement view. Clips recorded using this method are of different length almost every time which leads to out of sync playback down the line. In my estimation, there is a 50-60ms drift of the clip length. This leads to complete chaos in my live looping set after a few minutes as clips/tracks get out of sync.

The screenshot above shows the result of 7 identical takes of recording a half note clip into session view triggered by a midi clip in arrangement view. Slot 1 on track 1 was midi mapped to C-2 note, track 1 was armed for recording. Then a midi clip was created in arrangement view with two C-2 notes half-note apart. Starting playback leads to recording a half-note long clip in session view on track 1, slot 1. Playback was then stopped. The recorded clip was then moved from session view to an empty track in arrangement view and placed at the beginning of the timeline (1.1.1) to estimate its length. The clip in slot 1 on track 1 was then deleted in session view to allow for new recording. This process was repeated 6 times with each newly recorded clip placed at the same 1.1.1 position in a new empty track in arrangement view.

After zooming in at the end of the recorded clips we can see that they are of different length, which should not be the case. They all should be of identical length.

The example set can be downloaded here: https://1drv.ms/u/c/c2c9b3e0aba06b5c/IQ ... g?e=hOZrCO . I'd really appreciate if a few users could test it on their machines. It takes less than 2 minutes. The described issue is the same on my pc and my laptop, both on Win11Pro 25H2. Please change the output of the midi track according to your setup. In the Ableton's midi input settings the same midi port has to be set to REMOTE and to TRACK in the midi output settings to allow for triggering.

I never noticed this issue in previous versions of Live. Frankly, it renders Ableton completely useless for live looping. I've already raised a ticket with support.

Did you check in eg L11 recently?

You're controlling recording in Session slots via midi sent from Arrangement? Is that right?
If yes, then I suppose you're using some kind of midi routing that goes out of Live and then back in, in order to do the midi mapping. That's probably where the jitter is coming from. Or are you doing it another way?

I don't have L11 or 10 installed on my pc anymore, so cannot test it.

In my original looping set I control session slots via Clyphx Pro's Note Trigger Handler clips in arrangement view. I initially thought it's Clyphx's fault but as we can see the same happens with regular midi mapping. The set I have attached a link to uses no Clyphx and the problem still occurs. You're right, in the simple set I use a loopmidi port for routing. Still, it does not explain why exactly the same happens with Clyphx Pro as there's no midi routing needed there.

This is solved now. Launch Quantization is the culprit and it was disabled in my set.

Alright, thx for the heads up!
