Anyone using the new Ableton / Softube tape effects? Curious on people’s thoughts and use cases.

I have not. I thought about it but i think like many people probably i own many of their. plugins and
saw no reason of buing it all again repackaged in ableton friendly versions. I thought about it as in future proof and ease of use (automatic careless updates) but as said. I own too much already.
I suppose they will not be worse sound quality than the bigger siblings but sooner or later we will find out
from others

FYI these are 1:1 Softube code inside M4L devices, they sound exactly the same.

I’ve only used them a little, but they sound great. the biggest standout for me so far is the delay—it’s easier to get good results than the stock delays imo. the controls are very intuitive, to me, where I think the stock delays are kinda difficult to work with. and of course it sounds fantastic. the tape emulation is really nice too. still need to use the verb and other drive a bit more to get a better sense of those.

Tape Echoes is a real hidden gem. I have Console 1 along with many of their plugins that it supports but missed this one. Nice and unique characterful delay. It won't work on everything but does a great job delivering that sound. What's nice is this is also a tape emu if you want a slightly more gritty/warm tape drive to their normal tape plugin. You get a nice verb too so I feel it's the best value of the bunch.
These M4L versions are great for those with Push Standalone to get higher quality results than are available from stock devices. Otherwise, you could just get the Softube versions since they work in any DAW.
