Play all tracks in one scene including those from scenes before that have no stop bouton

Is there a possibility for Session View scenes to retain previous clip state when launched from stop (tracker-style behavior). Currently this works only while playback is already running. Example: if everything is stopped and I launch Scene B, tracks without clips in Scene B and without Stop Bouton would start clips in scene A.

There is no way for Live to know what clips you ‘intended’ to play in place of the blank spots.

The last awaylable in the Track.
The same way it actually does while playing and passing to next/other scene. (if there is no stop bouton of course).

Oh I understand while writing this. I actually can jump to a scene with other scenes between or even to a higher scene and keeps playing tracks because Live simply contiues playing them. But Live does not know where I stopped... (well in fact Live does, no?)
(I'm use to tracker sequencer where it is usual to play the last awailable spot)

Ok, then is there an other way to start (launch from stop) a scene PLUS other tracks from other scenes simutaniously?

You could map a CC to this particular scene and also map it to clips on the other tracks.

So you mention stopping and then starting.

From what I recall, if you hit stop on the transport, and then hit play on the transport (not the scene), then the clips that were previously playing in Session View should play again. Even if you trigger the scene, I would have thought that it would play what has been already playing??

It should only not work if the ‘stop’ button you are pressing is the scene or clip stop buttons as opposed to the transport.

Bonus tip: if you hold shift and press spacebar to continue playback with transport, it even continues playing mid-clip where it left off.

Oh Yes, this is already of great help! Good to know Transport-Stop stopps all clips but keeps them active. And, what I did not know, Transport-Play plays all clips from beginning.
But it still is a sort of Workaround: Hit play, select desired clips from different scenes, but then I have to hit Stop and Play again so that they all start from the beginning.

There must be a possibility while stopped to choose clips from different scenes and then launch them all together from their beginning.

I would definitly have a try with the midi mapping solution.

I should also mention ClyphX Pro (https://isotonikstudios.com/product-cat ... lyphx-pro/) which can manage this easily. You could launch the clips which aren't included in the scene using commands in a dedicated Clyph X track, and that "macro" clip will be triggered with the scene.

Yes I understand that solution. But it is not about a particular scene and some other precise clips. Scenes and clips are changing.
It's more about workflow. It feels like I am missing somithing that sounds obvious. Selecting clips and starting them all together from beginning.

We are recording multiple takes, see multiple scenes, during a session. While I am recording guitar in scene 15 - 20 on the fly, a track in scene 1 like drummachine may stay fixed during the whole process. + a bassloop in scene 5 etc.

It's like my partner asking me: "play the last guitar take with that synthline and the first drum-take" (scene 20, scene 5, scene1,...)
And I am not able to do it witout clicking a scene, changing clips, adding clips, Stopping Transport Starting Transport.

Interesting use case.
Not sure it’s doable but I might have an idea with m4l. Would a “lock track state” that would lock the playing clip in a given track work ?
(For situations that are predictable I use my archiduc device, but for live improv sessions, it would likely not work. )

Unless invoking paranormal activity, there's no way to do this without any action on the GUI.
So, if that's not for live situation but rather when composing, would select those chosen clips and launch them globally using a m4l "fire selected clips" would work for you ? Or "capture and insert scene" ?
