can Ableton detect tempo of parts played slower than the project tempo?

My project is currently set to the default 120 BPM but i realized the melody i recorded is slower, it's probably not simply half-time so I'm wondering if Ableton has any ability to detect the tempo if I found the right feature. i could also just figure out myself the tempo but how then would I change to that without slowing the MIDI?
