I'm using the M-Audio MobilePre USB on a Mac G3 OS9.2.2 (which is supported by Live 4). Everything sounds fine until playback.. My recorded track is distorted no matter how safe I record without clipping. I reinstalled the newest drivers (mac OS9.2.2) but still have the same problem.

I'm wondering if my "sound device" is the culprit. It's the only choice I have in my Live preferences. I emiled M-Audio a few times with no answer..it's been more than a week.. and i cant get a clean signal recorded no matter what I try.
Any suggestions?

A year later...using a PC not a Mac, but....
Using MobilePre as ASIO driver I had the same problem. I can get mine to work fine by going to OPTIONS/PREFERNCES then AUDIO tab. Change driver from ASIO to "No Audio" and then immediately back to ASIO. Go back to playback and problem solved.
BAD NEWS..you have to repeat this stupid procedure every time you start LIVE.

Hope it works for you, It was driving me nuts.
