No sound when previewing audio from the browser

When I click on any audio (wav, aif, etc.) via the browser, I get NO SOUND. It used to work, now it doesn't. All files play out when they are on a track, just not from the browser...

I should add that the Cue volume UP and is assigned to channels 1/2. Audio prefs are as they should be...

I seem to remember having this issue once before and, by deleteing some prefences (OSX Library), the problem went away. Now it's back and it remains to be an issue--no matter what I do.

I would greatly appreciate a solid solution, but I would be happy with a solid work around.

- Powerbook 1.5 GHz PowerPC G4
- MAC OSX 10.4.2 (Tiger)
- Live 5 (5.0.1)

Cheers
