is there a way to make live save all the asd files in one directory instead of the dir of the rendered track?

I personally dont think its possible unless Abelton re-write something within the program. I see it as making sense for the .asd file to stay with the sample, but just like threv, I like keeping clean folders and whatnot. If you move the .asd file, Live will simply write a new one to replace it in the sample's directory.

Isn't there a way to hide a partiular file type in Windows?

In windows I sort my mp3/wav folders by filetype so that the asd files are not side by side the audio files. This helps and IMHO is better than putting them in a diff directory
