Starting Out Production Issues

Hey Guys,
Just starting out with some production stuff and having a couple of early issues that you guys might know something about...
- Using an M-Audio Ozonic Firewire keyboard/controller, Apple Powerbook, Ableton Live 4
Issue 1 /> A mate plugs in his guitar and I've set it up to record into Live (one cord from the guitar to the instrument input plug in the keyboard), however it only seems to be recording mono. Steps I've taken to try and overcome this are selecting channels 3 & 4 in the input config of the audio tab of live preferences.
Issue 2 /> The output of the keyboard when running through a synth seems to be playing a note down on what it should be. i.e. the universally known 'c' key on a piano/keyboard appears to be playing a b flat and so on up from there... weird!
Issue 3 /> When assigning the midi map in Live, there seems to be a strange conflict going on.. i.e. my keyboard controllor has ten sliders each with a programmable button underneath... I want to assign the button for the solo button for each respective track in Live. I assign prog. button 1 to solo track 1, and then attempt to assign prog. button 2 to solo track 2 and it tells me that button is already being used for solo track 1 and stuffs up!
Any help with these would be greatly appreciated!
