So far so good.
I think the moving offset on capture+insert scene is gone.

but the orange dot can sleep safely : it still holds its "fucking orange dot" title.
you really need to assign a key to "revert" and press it everytime you move a warp marker.

yeah in fact, cutting and pasting a clip still makes a fucking mess of it by offseting the clip in small values, even if it's a one bar clip, global quantize on 1 bar. Fucking orange dot !

Hi Chris,

How small are the values it´s offset?
I played out with the new L5 beta and noticed that the snap to 1/16th disabled itself in the options menu and the red dot apeared at very small values behind the start marker, a few ticks only, after moving the loop brace.

Also the loop braces moved some ticks, you can only see it when you fully zoom in.
After manuall enabling the snap to 1/16 function, reverting a few times and correcting all the markers the clips played fine.

Please check out the loop braces everybody if you notice some strange happenings, that was already in the beta phase and is not sorted out yet.

I really love my new setup of L5 , my new TF and my uc 33, far better control over the music.
It was a 3 hour set and had no major glitches in the audio, besides a few grain artefacts with CPU spikes of 1500%, especially when I was dragging a simple delay into a return track or dropouts at the finishing off mp3 decoding.
An autorevert when moving a marker would be handy too.

It starts to rock!

Greetings

well i did a set last night with 5.2b3 and the scrub dot orange thing is still not helping, i still don't see the point of that thing, it was very good with the starting point as in live 4. There os only two things i can't deal with in live 5, this orange dot and the preset behavior with the browser which is slow and still FUCKING annoying in live situation.
Would it be possible to put an option where the offset point is stucked to the starting point phisically and when we move the offset we then also move the starting point???
For the preset I guess Ableton thinks everyone's got a 17' laptop with a 4giga hertz processor...

Hi Steve
very small values indeed.

"An autorevert when moving a marker would be handy too."
What about not moving the offset at all ?

Hi Chris,
I could not reproduce the appearing in a new, small set, but it definately happened on saturday at least 20 times in a random manner.

Explain me more how you do it please.
Check out the loop braces by totally zooming in and if the snap to 1/16th value has become unchecked when it happened too.

Well everything in clip transport you move related to the timeline creates the red dot, that makes sense, even when moving warpers.
The red dot appears, but your clip keeps playing in sync until you press keep, or am I wrong?

I am wrong!

Then you could forget it until you finished the whole track and only revert before saving the clip.

No you have to revert always after moving a marker to hear the result, I just checked out.

Greetings

Hi Steve.

This is really a pain in the ass.

The weird thing is that when I realized warping was impossible in 5.0.2b3 I went back to 5.0.1 to check how it worked, but it's exactly the same :
As soon as you move a marker your loop goes out of sync !
(not mentionning the fucking brackets that keep moving... I remember in the Live 3 manual when they were advising to warp a track live as a sort of game : game is over people !)

that don't make sense: live 3 warped correctly, live 4 warped correctly, and it's a total nightmare in live 5!
What sort of improvement is that?
How come programmers made such a step back ? How could they be satisfied with such a stupid behaviour ?
If they'd released this in live 1 they wouldn't have had the success they have now.

Sort it out folks !

Regarding how I do it Steve, I don't know I'm trying to work on something and notice some loops suddenly are out of sync. So I have to constantly stop and reset to position 1.1.1 so that everything play at the same time.

I'm currently on version Live 0.0.0 alpha 0
