Everything I record is offset

Only with Live 5 has this happened - Whenever I record an audio track when I play it back it is not palyng back exactly where it is supposed to. I have to tweak it so things align properly. With midi tracks it is the same thing and sometimes quantizing a selection helps but usuall I have to manuall adjust. I tried just to check simply strumming an acoustic guitar with a drumbeat - I played a loop and recorded it exactly where the part needed to be. Made sure that each down strum was on the 1 and the 3 and up on the 2 and 4 - playback: offest... What's the scoop y'all???

you have to set your monitor to off instead of auto or in, and you won't have any offset.
It's really an omission in the manual, it sort of implies it but is not clearly explained.

hey thanks for this - to be perfectly honest I haven't read much of the manual - I bought the download upgrade - I don't like reading off a computer especially when I'm trying to figure out the program about which it is written... So I print little chunks as needed..

what's surprising is that you say "only in live 5". I first got that in live 3, and it was the same in 4.
