Save Self Contained problems

i use this command and i save all my samples including impulse samples in my set folder, if i reopen that set ableton tell me "some samples are unused...", i click ok and ableton trashes my files, then i reopen that set, i reopen the impulse presets and ableton can't find the samples that i have cancelled before!
i use only a track for impulse and i change presets during my liveset, maybe this is the reason because ableton live ask me if i want to trash the impulse samples that i don't use at the time i leave ableton. this is a problem for me because i can't understand what samples i need and what samples i can trash in my set....it is right or is a bug? have you got any solution?

Hi PiLLO,

which version of Live do you use and on which computer platform and operating system?

Alex

Hi PiLLO,

just to make sure, is this what you did?

1) load an impulse (or simpler) preset
2) save the current set self-contained
3) save the preset (using the disk-icon in the device)
4) choose another preset
5) save the set, remove unused samples

6) load the preset that was saved in step 3

=> Now the preset does not find its samples since
it lost track of the originals and the copies in the
set's sounds folder are gone.

This is of course not what one would expect, but
for the moment I cannot offer a better solution than
not to delete the 'unused' samples.

Kind regards,
Friedemann
