Layering + Fast sample switching in impulse

Would be great to see some enhancements in impulse. In particular, a layering function, and a sample switching function. To be more descriptive...

Layering: I layer my drums heavly. I normally use about 3+ kicks, 5+ snares... etc.. I have to load up the different samples in each cell in impulse. I normally have 3+ 4 impulses unning at the same time just to achieve the sound I want. (For those thinking... "why not resample and use only one impulse for your drums. Well I answer... I'm inlove with it's realtime concept. Thus if I do resample, and I wanted to make an adjustment to a sound, instead of tweaking in inpulse, I would have a sample that is good, but it wouldn't be what I want and would have to go through the whole process again). Having a layering option would be great.

Though I'm not a developer; a sort of drop down menu with 4 (or so) more emply slots in each cell would be wonderful. That way you could load up a sample, and you could switch between sound while at the same time fine tuning each sound. Having to save not only a bit of time creating a nice balance drum sound but it would also clean up the midi note editor by not having to trigger every sample on every key.It can get quite messy.

As for switching samples. It would be great to be able to change sounds on the fly. Having a " load next sample" option in the cells of impulse would be great. For example I have a kick sound, and insteading of dragging a new sound from my library of kicks, I can just switch the sounds on the fly all within a cell in impulse. This would speed up my (as well as plenty of users) time when programming drums (or what ever else).

What do you guys think?

I could use that. I often layer 2,347 Ethiopian nose flutes over each other just to get the sound exactly right.

Where does it end? :?

I'm not quiet sure about the layering thing,
but the switch single sounds thing in impulse would be really nice.

I mentioned that before and hope it will be there in the future.

Joking aside, I have a need to switch Impulse sets that I play live. I've got six different kits, and right now the only way to choose one is to put all six of them in six different tracks and unmute the one I want to use. It's obviously CPU heavy, though, as all six are still triggering, even though only one is making it to the mix.

At least it's easy to layer Impulse kits by sending the same MIDI notes to all required tracks.

Same here. I use multiplue impulses all containing different kits. The layering feature would be well worthy addon for impulse.
