Live and Reason 3...cpu overload!!!

Hey...I'm running Live 4 on an ibook G4 1.2ghz 768ram rewired with reason. When I'm running reason modules with live (synths, combinator, etc...) I always get sound cracks and pops. When I close Reason the problem stops and the cpu drops...but with reason running the cpu jumps anywhere from 64-80...and the problems start. How can I solve this issue? The cpu reading in reason remains low at all times. Any optimization tips, etc...? Thanks all!!

try to run as few audio tracks back into live as possible, and do the mixing in Reason when you can.. that should cut down your cpu usage a bit, iirc.

hi Jaybone,
reason's cpu meter in is deactivated when running it in rewire slave mode.
what buffersize do you have set up in Live's audio preferences? perhaps it helps to increase the buffersizes.
and it's like Machinate said, less devices, less cpu.
all the best,
matthias

The buffer is set to it's default...I'll try increasing it. However I'm not running any tracks from reason...just running a synth direct through 1 Live track...with Live as the master. Even If I have only 1 or 2 tracks playing in Live while I'm running Reason the cracks always occur with high cpu indications. Like I said I'll try to increase the buffer settings and see what happens....thanks!
